In the long term these treatments have been extremely successful. 7 years ago we repaired a stretch of road with Rhinopatch and then preserved it with Rhinophalt. We have not had to do any repairs on that piece of road since and we would normally have expected to carry out a number of patch repairs. It was a very, very quick operation that has given us 7 years of life.

The council is using Rhinopatch to great effect to improve our road repairs performance, in terms of the pace at which work can be done, so minimising disruption, and its effectiveness. That coupled with the system’s excellent environmental credentials whereby the existing materials are recycled so waste is virtually eliminated, make it a much more sustainable system. It also has the important benefit of being a safer process for those carrying out the road repairs.

We started doing Rhinopatch in Northamptonshire and the process was so easy and made a fantastic difference after years of humping around a jackhammer and shovelling asphalt waste. If patching workers cannot take to the Rhinopatch process then they will not take to anything. Rhinopatch is a fantastic alternative for the lads on the road.

As a traditional second generation asphalt contractor, I have been aware of ASI’s infra-red road repair process for some time and, in 2006, Raybell were requested by Northamptonshire County Council to undertake some Rhinopatch work on their road network. I wish I had taken the process on years ago and if there is an easier, quicker and more cost effective way of carrying out a sustainable road repair then I honestly do not know what it is.
