A1 Black Cat Roundabout
This failing six year old SMA was fretting and pulling up in wheel tracks. The Rhinophalt treatment was carried out in October 2007 during the night with TM restrictions. This section of road totalling some 52,200m2 was expected to need replacing in Spring 2008 but will now be preserved.

A35 Dorchester by-pass
Rhinophalt treatment on the busy by-pass was undertaken on 13 - 15 October 2007 with the objective of arresting chip loss. The 17,560m2 area of single carriageway is sited in a rural location. Although the road is 18 years old, defelectograph monitoring indicated over 10 years more structural life.

A505 Royston to Baldock
In October 2007 Rhinophalt was applied to 17,500m2 of heavily trafficked dual carriageway. Although the HRA surface was 8 years old no sign of chip loss was evident. Three months earlier an older section of this road was surface dressed with premium grade as it had deteriorated further than the section in the case study.

Balgillo Road, Dundee
A busy commuter and bus route, this HRA and pre-coated chippings road was showing signs of fatigue. The council decided to test Rhinophalt as a clean and convenient alternative to conventional surface dressing in line with their Spend to Save strategy of early intervention.
