Concrete & Stone Deterioration
Without protection, concrete, stone and cement based pavements and structures are subject to deterioration through the effects of the freeze/thaw cycle, corrosion due to ion penetration and alkali/silica reactions and the widespread growth of buddleia.
Historic methodology needs multiple applications of highly toxic treatments that are disruptive, dangerous and costly. With no safe alternative, protection can not be carried out in or near water, and other sensitive locations, without extensive containment measures. Very often, structures and buildings remain untreated as the necessary stringent containment is too costly and disruptive thus leaving these valuable assets exposed to the dangers of concrete corrosion.
The Pavix Solution
Chem-Crete Pavix penetrates deeply into the structure to be protected and forms insoluble crystals that seal voids and block the ingress of moisture while allowing the material to breathe. These unique crystals seal hairline cracks up to 1.4mm wide and the inner surface of large cracks preventing water from causing further damage. At the surface Chem-Crete Pavix creates an invisible and insoluble water repelling effect.
An environmentally friendly water-based treatment, Chem-Crete Pavix is non-toxic and safe for people, flora, fauna and marine life. It is used to protect old and new surfaces from damage caused by water ingress, freeze-thaw, weed growth and helps to keep the surface free from dirt and stains . Chem-Crete Pavix meets the requirements of BD43/03 and has a worldwide track record of success.
